Woke at 7, after a really good nights sleep. Very little noise or movement. Watched a cruise liner come into port, and were surprised to see a TUI logo!! Thought they had stopped sending them here. Had cuppa and breakfast before 8am, knowing that the EGG guys may turn up........and 08.30 they were here, took our battered alternator away to be refurbished. We decided to go into town for replacement impeller and water. Found so many boat related shops!!! Never seen so many suppliers in one street, which is next to the Marina. Got what was needed 130 TL for 2. Stopped for a coffee and to watched the cruise passengers disembark, all wearing vest tops and shorts, in March ! guess what we were wearing?? Spoke to agent regarding customs who would like to see the boat today in order to check us out, oops, we are engine less!! She will ring again later. Back on board, had simit (sesame circle of bread, yummy) for lunch then walked over to Marina cafe for internet. Beautiful day until wind appeared at lunchtime. Guys with alternator arrived at 3pm fitted and rechecked everything. They spotted the fan within the engine compartment, was broken and raced off to town to replace it for the bargain price of 70.2 Turkish Lira or £17. Made a Chilli for tea, then out for a walk to town. Spoke to agent to explain engine problem has delayed us, and now weather will prohibit us from leaving the following day. We are allowed to wait in Albatross Marina for as long as we need. Found some waterproof coats and trousers XXX large sizes only! Stopped in Marmaris Marina for a well deserved beer. Then the rain called off play, back in a taxi to Albatross. Attempted a shower, no hot water or water pressure in the Marina Rest rooms, abandoned that and headed back for showers on board. Hot water, bliss :) settled to catch up with events and read up about engines!!
