KevinOriginally from Nottingham in the North of England, I moved South to the lovely town of Paignton, Devon in 2001. Self employed for most of my life after completing a 3 years apprenticeship as a motor vehicle mechanic, I eventually re-trained as a carpenter and retired in 2013, at the ripe old age of 55.
I met Dee in 2001 after the collapse of my previous marriage and life just got better and better. Having lost both parents, one to Parkinsons Disease and the other to Altzeimers (indirectly), I realised that life really is too short to just sit around! With the children now all grown up and doing their own thing, life has became more flexible. We now spend most of our time at our home in Turkey, where Kejstral is moored, with a few weeks a year back in the UK catching up with friends and family. The next chapter of my life is currently being written aboard Kejstral, visiting as many locations around the world, before I am too old to realise where I am. |
DeeI grew up in Glasgow and began looking to travel at an early age. I therefore joined the Royal Navy and trained in the Queen Alexandra Royal Navy Nursing Service.
I then joined the NHS in Plymouth as an Intensive Care Nurse, progressing to an Acute Care Specialist Nurse. Throughout this time, I had the urge to be experiencing faraway lands and intriguing cultures. I met Kevin in 2001, and as our relationship grew, so did our longing to travel. Our children have set up their lives, and the next step of ours is possible. Our move to Turkey in 2013, encouraged our dream of distant shores and new adventures. Then came the lovely "Kejstral" another little piece of our dream. The plan.........see and do as much as we can whilst we are still young, fit and healthy enough. |
Kejstral is a 2008 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 36i.
She has had one previous owner and is registered in London UK.
When we purchased Kejstral she was a privately owned charter boat, being run through a Turkish based company by the name of EGG Yachting. They are based in Gocek, Turkey and run a very proffesional set up, with 30 boats in the fleet.
Kejstral has 2 cabins, one head, but boasts a large shower room with hot and cold water. The galley is a good size with a 2 ring burner set up on a Gimble platform.
We now have a great solar set up, with 300watt panels and a battery bank of 300amp. This runs all the instruments, fridge freezer, autohelm and lighting, and has been money very well spent!
She has furling genoa and in mast furling main.
