Trip to Gocek, day 1
Set off from Akbuk at around 08.00 am, Kevin was awake at 04.40!! I tried to get back to sleep, woke at 07.00, had breakfast then packed rest of stuff into car. Packed up house ready for a week / ten days away. Weather pretty cloudy mostly, sun out occasionally. Called into Marmaris en route, to collect our precious Sailing Captains Licences and VHF radio certificates! Exciting :) Then headed onto Marmaris seafront to have a spot of lunch. Drove straight to Jasmine apartments, met by owner, really nice man and his wife, extremely helpful family. Dumped our stuff then headed for Marina to see if E G G were open (Sunday) guess what...... No! :( Had a coffee and dry bun in coffee shop. Walked along the shoreline to the boat yard, might get to see 'Kejstral'! walked past her once, walked through the whole hard standing, before eventually spotting her back at the beginning!! Found her all painted and almost ready for relaunching. Fenders on but no sails yet. Really excited now :) had a beer on the seafront then headed back to change and go for food. On the way we found West Marine, or East marine as it has been renamed! Spent 1000 tl on glasses, cutlery place mats, front entrance mat and a few little bits. Took those back to car then changed for dinner. Had a lovely sweet and sour chicken glass of wine, then ready for bed. Slept well
